The Prada Group takes over the majority of the Car Shoe SA company, owner of the Car Shoe brand in 2001, with the intention of preserving and reviving one of the most sophisticated and emblematic Italian brands. With this spirit, the 1963 logo is reintroduced and, during the years, image, style and the original quality of the driving shoe patented by its founder in the 1960’s are restored.
The first Car Shoe store, designed by Roberto Baciocchi, opened in Via Della Spiga, 50 in Milan on March 5, 2001. This shop then relocated to number 1 in November 2006, re-opening with a new architectural guise reflecting the brand's heritage and the iconic driving shoe.
On 15th March 2003, Car Shoe opened its second store in the prestigious Via Vittorio Emanuele, Capri.

14th September 2009 Car Shoe opens a flagship store in Piazza San Lorenzo in Lucina, in the heart of Rome.

6th December 2011 Car Shoe opens its first flagship store in the United Kingdom, in New Bond Street, the heart of luxury shopping in London.
November 2012 Car Shoe opens its first flagship store in Dubai, at the prestigious “Dubai Mall-Level Shoe district”.

Car Shoe opened its first store in Tuscan cult shopping city, Forte Dei Marmi, choosing a prime location in downtown Via Carducci. To celebrate the event, Car Shoe invaded the seaside town with 50 branded yellow bicycles and launched a social marathon on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, inviting fans to post #carshoewayoflife updates.
Italian brand Car Shoe, established in 1963, and Automobili Lamborghini, celebrated their 50th anniversary together in May 2013. A limited edition of Car Shoe's cult moccasin was released for the occasion. The shoes are adorned with the luxury sports car's metal logo on the lace along the side of the shoe, and the Lamborghini coat of arms on the heel and printed on the insole.

For the September 2013 edition of the Goodwood Revival Festival, the historic motor race meeting that has been attracting millions of vintage car lovers to the classic, all-British three-day rally since 1993, Car Shoe designed and ran an original temporary store in Goodwood High Street, West Sussex, for the duration of the festival.
